Angela “Angie” Benton

Charater profile: Angela “Angie” Benton

 Name: Angela “Angie” Benton
Age: Mid-30s
Ethnicity: African American
Occupation: Executive Secretary to Richard, Fara’s father
Current Status: Trusted right-hand at the UBC conglomerate; closely tied to Richard’s personal and professional life

physical description

Angela is striking, always perfectly put together. With smooth mocha skin, a statuesque frame, and long, styled hair, she walks into a room like she owns it. Her voice issofth, her laugh bold, and her fashion taste? Impeccable—designer heels, subtle gold accessories, and nails always done. She’s the kind of woman who doesn’t need to ask for attention. She commands it.

Personality traits

  •  Ambitious & Well-Connected: Angie didn’t climb to be Richard’s right hand without brains and strategy. She knows how to play the game and come out on top.

  • Flirtatious & Calculated: She knows how to read a room and play to its weaknesses. With Tristam, she uses charm and insinuation to maintain an emotional advantage.

  • Territorial & Provocative: She pushes Fara’s buttons with subtle digs and passive-aggressive remarks, questioning her memory, her fun factor, and her connection to Tristam.

  • Unapologetically Bold: Angie never waits to be invited into conversations, into homes, or lives. She often shows up, unannounced, and always makes a lasting impression.

core wounds

  • Abandonment & Replacement: Angie’s resentment and need for control may stem from growing close to Fara’s father in the absence of her own parental figure. Fara’s reappearance challenges her long-standing influence.

  • Validation through Influence: Her self-worth is tied to how indispensable she feels to powerful men—first Richard, now perhaps Tristam.

romantic dynamic

With Fara, Angie sees a threat to her place in Richard’s world.  With Tristam, Angie is flirtatious, familiar, and bold, but his loyalty to Fara frustrates her attempts. She masks her interest in him behind meals and teasing.

character arc

One of concealed ambition, shifting loyalties, and unfulfilled desire—but ultimately, she doesn’t change in the way a traditional arc might demand. That is her arc: she stays who she is—a woman who thrives in the gray area, surviving on charisma, proximity to power, and emotional manipulation.
